Getting started

Customise your review form

The form is the first thing your clients see of Mocha. Under "Design" you change its look and fields and see every change in the preview straight away.

TL;DR in 5 steps

  1. Open the space and choose "Design" in the "Form" group.
  2. Under "Template", pick a layout and a style.
  3. Adjust the header, fields and colours, and check the preview on desktop and mobile.
  4. Click "Save"; only then does the public form change.
  5. Set the "Space language" under "Settings"; new spaces start in German.

Where to customise the form

Everything about the form lives in the "Form" group of the space navigation. Each of these pages shows a preview of the form on the right.

Design

  1. Pick a layout and a style

Under "Template", first choose the "Layout", the structure of the page. "Card" shows the form in a card. "Split" divides the page: one half shows your image or the main colour with your logo, name and a quote from an approved review, the other half holds the form. Layouts marked "Coming soon" can't be selected yet.

Below, choose a "Style": a preset for colours, card and font. A style is only a starting point; as soon as you change something, Mocha shows "Custom".

  2. Set the header and fields

Under "Header", edit the "Heading" and "Subheading". Under "Fields", decide what the form asks for: "Collect email", "Require email", "Collect title / company" and "Collect photo". The star rating, the name and the review itself are always included.

  3. Adjust colours, card and font

Under "Colors", choose the "Colour scheme" (light or dark), the "Button color", the "Star color" and the "Card background". Empty colour fields use the "Main colour". "Card" and "Typography" hold the card style, corners, font and logo shape.

  4. Check the preview and save

The "Live preview" shows every change immediately. Use "Step" to switch between "Rating", "Details" and "Thanks", and "Device" to switch between "Desktop" and "Mobile". Only "Save" puts the changes on the public form. The arrow icon "Reset to defaults" next to the button resets layout and design, again only once you save.

Questions and thank-you page

Under "Questions" you can add up to ten questions that help reviewers write, such as "How did the treatment help you?". None of them is required. "Load template" offers ready-made sets, for example "Practice / services", and "Generate suggestions" proposes questions you can pick and add.

Under "Thank-you page" you set the title, message and an image or GIF, a redirect to your website and "Offer a Google review". That button appears for every review, whatever the rating. Without Pro, the form shows a standard text in the space language.

Language of the form

The form, thank-you page, emails to reviewers and QR code templates use the "Space language", not the language of your dashboard and not the reviewer's browser language. New spaces start in German. To switch, open "Settings", choose "English" under "Space language" and click "Save changes".

Mocha does not translate your consent text when you switch. Check it under "Privacy" afterwards: "Use suggested text" inserts the suggestion in the new language. More on that page in name display and exporting the consent log.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see my changes on the public form?

The preview shows changes immediately, the public form only after you click "Save". If you try to leave the page with unsaved changes, Mocha asks first.

Can I change colours on the Free plan?

Button colour, star colour, card background, page background and colour scheme can be changed on every plan. The main colour (the space's accent colour) is chosen when you create the space; changing it afterwards requires Pro.

Can I show the form directly on my website?

Yes, with the collection form widget. It embeds the form on your page with one line of code and uses the look and fields you set under "Design".

Which fields are always on the form?

The star rating, the name, the review itself (text or video) and the consent checkbox. Email, title / company and photo can be switched on or off under "Fields".
