Highlights band

Many voices at a glance: the highlights band for your website

The highlights band shows short reviews as rounded chips in two rows that run endlessly in opposite directions. Visitors see within seconds how many people trust you.

What it does for you

The trust strip below your hero

Right below the top of your homepage, visitors decide whether to keep scrolling. The highlights band fills that transition with voices: two rows of short sentences such as “Finally a practice that takes its time” run past in opposite directions, each with a small avatar and, if you like, stars. The height is reserved while the page loads, so the band never pushes content down. It also works as a divider between two sections, for example between your services and your team.

Many voices, no space problem

A card per review takes a lot of room, a chip hardly any. In the band, many statements are in view at once without anyone having to click. When a visitor moves the pointer over the band, both rows stop and the chip shows the reviewer's name. Reviews with a short version or a text of up to 160 characters are included; anything longer works better in the slider or on the review wall. With the Pro switch “Show short version”, more reviews qualify.

Runs by itself, no photo required

A chip does not need a photo: if there is none, the initial appears in a coloured circle. The band shows names the way you set them under “Privacy”, and imported Google reviews carry the note “via Google”. Under “Options” you choose the speed, under “Appearance” theme, border radius, shadow and font size. New reviews join in by themselves, withdrawn ones disappear, and anyone who has reduced motion on their device sees the band without automatic movement.

Embed code

This is what the code looks like. Copy your own code with all your settings in the dashboard under “Embed” > “Widget” and paste it where the reviews should appear.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add the highlights band to my website?

In the dashboard, open your space, go to “Embed” > “Widget” and pick “Highlights band” under “Choose a widget”. Set “Appearance” and “Options”, click “Copy code” and paste the code as an HTML block between two sections of your page. Step-by-step guides for WordPress, Elementor, Wix and other platforms are in our help section.

How does the band behave on mobile?

Both rows run across the full width of the area the band sits in, and chips at the edge are simply cut off. The height is reserved while the band loads, so the page below does not jump. If someone has chosen “reduce motion” in their system settings, nothing moves by itself.

Which reviews appear in the band?

Only reviews that have a short version or a short text of up to 160 characters. Long reviews without a short version stay out; with the Pro switch “Show short version” in the widget settings, more of them qualify. If no review qualifies, the band stays empty on the page. Under “Options” you set the “Scroll speed” to Slow, Normal or Fast and switch “Show stars” on or off.

How much does the highlights band cost?

The highlights band is included in the free plan, like every widget style, with up to 50 approved reviews and a small “Powered by Mocha” note. Pro costs €19 a month with a 14-day free trial, removes the limit, uses your own accent colour and shows no note. The “short version” is also a Pro feature.

What about GDPR and cookies?

The band sets no cookies. For the statistics in your dashboard, Mocha counts views and clicks but stores no IP addresses. The reviews come from the Mocha form, where every reviewer first agrees to your consent text, and names appear the way you set them under “Privacy”. Whether and how to mention the widget in your privacy policy is a question for your data protection adviser.
